Shop

WINE CITY is a little more than a wine shop.   Here are some of the things that you can find and maybe enjoy in this wine shop in Pampanga:

Sure, there are wines, lots of wines, over 1,000 selections of them from Burgundy, Rhone, Bordeaux, South of France, Piedmont, Tuscany, Sicily, Campania, Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Portugal, Napa, Sonoma, Oregon, Chile, Argentina, Barossa, Yarra Valley, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany,… and the list goes on.  And if you have something in mind that you can’t find here, all you have to do is give us a shout  (this link goes to contact us form).

RARE VINTAGES

Wine novices are often baffled by the fuss that wine connoisseurs and seasoned wine drinkers make about rare old bottles of wines.  Surely it is an acquired taste.  The labels maybe torn and stained, the fill could be below the neck and the color maybe too tawny for comfort, but once we get past all those deterrents, there could be something really special at the end of the tunnel.

The Wine City has a small but special room – called the Vintage Cellar – where these rare old bottles are stored.   Here, these bottles enjoy living conditions better than the people that own and run the Wine City.  24-hour temperature control, peace and quiet and regular housekeeping services, just to name a few perks of being valuable.  And no, not all of them are priced for “crazy rich Asians”.

And if you have grown tired and bored with the newly released bottles, you might want to give the old ones a try.  You might just find a whole new world.

And if we’ve read your minds successfully, you are asking us if you can stick around after buying a few bottles to open one up and enjoy one alone or with friends before you head out.

The answer is “yes you can”.  30% of the floor area of this wine shop is used for a lounge, where guests can relax and enjoy a nice glass of wine.   And yes, there is a good menu of wine by the glass also.

We still haven’t quite gotten your point yet, have we?  Hmm, wild guess – “is there something to eat while sipping the wine?”   Again, a lucky yes to that question.   Wine City doesn’t pretend to be a full restaurant, a gastropub or even a bistro.   But there is food, and hopefully you will agree that the compact lounge food menu serves its purposes.

If we have learnt anything from the 25 years in this business in the Philippines, it is that people’s tastes vary on a daily basis; some even more frequently than that.  It is not a rare thing to want to switch over to the land of fine digestive after a bottle or two of wine.  After all, Wine City does offer what some may consider to be an attractive selection of fine single malts and Armagnacs.   The wine lounge also offers a pretty good selection of them by the glass.   Guests can check out the Liquor menu to find something “a little stronger” to take the edge off.

The dining and lounge areas of Wine City is not a venue for smoking.   But many wine lovers often enjoy a nice Cuban smoke in the evening.

A fine selection of Cuban cigars are available in the Wine City.  And there are some useful cutters and accessories too just in case someone forgot to pack on for the trip up from Manila.

Familiar names like Cohiba, Trinidad, Monte Cristo, Romeo et Julieta, Partagas, Upmann etc. are available here.

The Wine City doesn’t pretend to have everything for everyone.  There are things that our guests look for, items on the food menus that we don’t have, a whiskey or liquor that we missed on the list, even wines that we don’t offer.  There are other shops in Clark and bars in Angeles City that will have what you are looking for.

What’s important is that everybody has a good time in Pampanga.  And if the Wine City plays even a tiny role in making that happen, well, we are happy!

Hope you have a wonderful time at The Wine City.
